Our Marquees are weather resilient, made from from 650gsm PVC which better insulates the space. Add a ceiling lining and, like
home double glazing, a barrier is created between the marquee interior and the roof, trapping the warmer air inside. Using side curtains to wrap the frame adds another layer, trapping more warmth and reducing drafts. We provide both solutions if you need.
To maximise cosiness in cooler periods, a wooden sub floor is recommended. This raises the marquee a few critical inches above the ground giving efficient insulation from the cold earth below. Marquees used as home extensions or for seated dining benefit greatly from using a wooden sub-floor rather than just a carpet and ground sheet combination.
Heating options we recommend...
We provide a range of portable heaters which are effective with all marquee sizes. Economical electric space heating is perfect for smaller marquees up to 6x6m/4x8m, and for larger builds of 8m long (or greater) we recommend an indirect space heater (see below). They work on the same principle as a home boiler, generating maximum warmth and minimum risk by venting any fumes outside the structure (see below).
We do not advise choosing direct space heaters as these can release some carbon monoxide into the marquee causing guests to feel unwell. We can only install these units if the marquee panels are left open for ventilation, which can defeat the aim of keeping the event cosy and draft free!

How Indirect Heating works
Indirect fired heaters work just like your home boiler. The flame is contained in a burn chamber which heats a “heat exchanger”. The cooler air passes over and around the heat exchanger, thus heating the air and exhaust gases are expelled via a flue outside the marquee, this results in.

Electric Space Heaters
Small space heaters, powered by a domestic electricity supply, are highly effective in smaller, enclosed spaces. They are quiet and portable, easy to locate and simple to use, making them perfect for smaller, more intimate functions such as family & friends events and dining.
